Assembly Election Results 2022: The assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh were held in seven phases.

Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Admi Party has managed a landslide sweep in Punjab while the BJP has managed to buck the trend in Uttar Pradesh, where it was battling a stiff fight from Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party. The BJP is also ahead in Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand.
The Aam Aadmi Party is at a comfortable lead in Punjab with leads in close to 90 seats in the 117-seat assembly. The ruling Congress is trailing with 13 seats. Both the Congress’s biggest leaders in Punjab – Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and state unit boss Navjot Singh Sidhu – were trailing, as counting of votes entered the third hour on Thursday. Amarinder Singh, former Chief Minister, trailing in his constituency of Patiala Urban seat.
In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP seems to have successfully tackled the anti-incumbency and is appeared to win over 250 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress are neck-and-neck. Among those leading included Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav from Karhal. The majority mark in the 403-member legislative assembly is 202.
Election trends show the BJP has extended its lead in Uttarakhand with the Congress trailing in the hill state. The BJP is leading in 44 seats while the Congress is leading in 21 in Uttarakhand assembly elections, as per the trends at 10:57 am.
The BJP was leading in 17 Assembly seats of Goa, while the Congress was ahead in 15, as per the latest trends available of 40 out of the 40 seats in the state. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is leading by over 300 votes so far in Sanquelim Assembly seat, official data at 10:30 AM said.

Punjab Election 2022: Tight security in Punjab centres amid vote counting
As many as 7,500 personnel have been deputed for the counting process which began at 8 am at 66 locations across the state, officials said.
A three-tier security measure has been set up with the deployment of 45 companies of Central Armed Police Forces at the counting centres.
Officials said CRPC section 144 has been imposed in all the districts and gathering of people outside the counting centres has been prohibited.

UP Election Results: Samajwadi Party’s stronghold Azamgarh voted in last phase
Azamgarh, which is the Samajwadi Party’s stronghold, voted in last phase of UP election.
The Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had won the Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 general elections. The SP stronghold had also bagged five out of 10 Assembly seats in the 2017 state elections. Even while the BJP swept the 2017 state polls, the party had won just one Assembly seat.
The BJP has fielded Akhilesh Mishra against SP’s Durga Prasad Yadav from the Azamgarh Assembly seat. Durga Prasad Yadav is yet to lose an election from here since 1985.

- There is no question of EVM tampering. EVMs are continuously used since 2004, in 2019 we have started using VVPAT at every polling booth. EVMs are sealed in the presence of political party agents.
